- Allthough annoying somtimes, I think the fact that people did not always
- follow the rules on the Amiga led to some very interesting things. ie
- Caligari, Adpro, ImageFX, Lightwave, Dpaint, Scala, Amigavision. All
- complety different style guides and interface types.
-
- Good thing too. They were all great programs. Some were not so great,
- but htey just sort of go away or haunt you like imagine....
-
- I dont know if complete standardization is a good thing.

- Who said you needed an extra 16MB of RAM? The point of what I said above
- was that if you want an OS that does what NT does then you need the
- resources, it does not matter who makes it.
-
- So do you plan to be doing 3D work in less than 16MB of RAM? The
- requirements to run the os effectively on the PMAC and NT are pretty close.

- That is the sad part about the Mac, for what you get it should not cost
- that much. Appple could not sell that computer at that price if they
- were NT clone prep boxes. As long as people keep buying them for 7000
- they will keep selling them. Apple and all the other companies, exist to
- make money, and that comes first before making computers.

- I have not problem with it, I think it is good more users mean more
- users. All I am saying is that you would be porting LW to a computer
- that it is already supposed to be running on via NT. In a way you are
- putting all of these resources into something that was supposed to run on
- it in the first place now that is delayed till whenever Apple thinks it
- will be profitable to move to Prep systems.

- That is what apple will want you to do. Hopefully your system will run
- other Operating systems in the future.

- there systems. I dont know why.

-
- no no no. Your system is NT capable. The onlything stopping it from
- being NT capable is Apple.
-
- I would buy a PMAc if I could run NT, Linux and the mac OS. But I am
- afraid I cant when the only thing stopping me is a two dollar ROM and
- some pig headed beurocrats.
-
- I know at least a dozen people that would have bought Pmacs if they were
- NT and linux capable.
